- Do the RPE18 pieces as laid out
- Use the exact SPM (strokes per minute) as the previous weeks of RPE18 training
- After one minute track the distance covered and the travel speed of the boat
- Notice any increases in either speed or distance
- See how long this new rate or speed is held for
- Both or either is an indication of progression
